Chi Kung is the art of balancing and increasing your vital, internal energy (Qi) for self-healing, martial arts and spiritual attainment, through regulation of posture, breathing and mind. With specialized training, it can be used to heal others, somewhat like an energetic, no-needle form of acupuncture.
Regular practice maintains health, calms the mind and reconnects the spirit. Many people have restored their health with Chi Kung.
Martial Chi Kung
This type of practice can improve performance in any martial art or other sports. It will enable you to increase speed, stamina, and power, improve balance, flexibility, and coordination, and condition the body against injury.
Spiritual Chi Kung
This practice involves still or moving meditations such as tai chi.
Benefits of practice include increased self-awareness, tranquility, and harmony with nature.
Medical Chi Kung
Chi Kung is considered an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine
(TCM) which has the same efficacy rate as Western Medicine. The comprehensive methods taught in our Medical Chi Kung Courses are based on the standards set by the International Institute of Medical Qigong
(IIMQ) in the USA and the Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. Shifu Andy James is head of the Toronto Branch of the IIMQ.
More information on course content may be found on the website http://www.medicalqigong.org/training_MQP.htm Courses are P1 (Level A) and P2 (Level b) We offer individual Qi Gong medical therapy as well as group classes.
